Keys to Leadership

It was my pleasure to speak at this year’s Girls’ State. Approximately 350 girls between their jr and senior years in high school gathered to spend the week with hands-on learning about the political process. They’ve heard from a number of current and former elected officials at all levels, including Gov. Gary Herbert, Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox, Senator Deidre Henderson, Councilwoman Aimee Newton and more. I was also one of the lucky ones who got to spend some time with them.

I shared with them 3 keys to leadership, added a bonus one at the end and even shared a couple of secrets like this one: Leaders don’t always have it all together.

Here is that speech. I’d love to know what YOU think an essential key to leadership is.

That was a wonderful speech, Holly! It was chock full of amazing advice, quotes and personal choices. I, too, love Brene Brown’s book. I hope all women will take the challenge to dare greatly. Thanks for sharing.
